Exchange Bank Contributes $25,000 to Milledgeville Police Department
Through Georgia’s LESS Crime Act Program

Milledgeville, GA –  September 26, 2025— Exchange Bank is proud to announce a $25,000 contribution to the Milledgeville Police Department to help equip and train the officers who work daily to keep our community safe.

This donation was made possible through Georgia’s Law Enforcement Strategic Support (LESS) Crime Act program, established by the Georgia General Assembly in 2021. The program allows businesses and individuals to contribute directly to local law enforcement foundations in exchange for a state tax credit. These contributions are used to fund essential needs such as advanced officer training, updated equipment, recruitment efforts, and community policing initiatives. The goal of the LESS Crime Act is to build stronger partnerships between communities and their law enforcement agencies while ensuring officers have the resources they need to protect and serve effectively.

John C. Childs, President and CEO of Exchange Bank, emphasized the importance of supporting those who serve on the front lines, “At Exchange Bank, we believe in investing in the safety and well-being of our community. The men and women of the Milledgeville Police Department put their lives on the line every day, and we are honored to contribute to their training and resources.”

Milledgeville Police Chief Dray Swicord expressed gratitude for the donation and its impact on the department’s mission, “We are extremely grateful for Exchange Bank’s commitment to public safety and law enforcement. This contribution allows us to enhance training opportunities and provide essential equipment for our officers, ensuring they are better prepared to protect and serve the citizens of Milledgeville.”

Through its participation in the LESS Crime Act program, Exchange Bank continues to reinforce its long-standing commitment to the community it serves, demonstrating once again that “Where Community Matters” is more than just a tagline — it is a guiding principle.
