Exchange Bank Promotes Jonathan Pope to Senior Vice President – Commercial Lender
Milledgeville, GA – October 15, 2025 – Exchange Bank is proud to announce the promotion of Jonathan Pope to Senior Vice President – Commercial Lender. This promotion reflects Jonathan’s outstanding 25-year career in community banking and his continued commitment to serving Milledgeville and the surrounding communities.
Jonathan Pope began his career with Exchange Bank in 2000, working part-time while attending college. By 2003, he became a full-time teller and vault custodian. Over the years, he has held a variety of roles including accounting clerk, management trainee, loan officer, and branch manager–assistant vice president of the Southside Office. In 2015, he was promoted to vice president–branch manager of the Northside Office. He played an integral role in launching Exchange Bank’s Lake Sinclair Office in 2017, where he successfully grew his loan portfolio and contributed to the bank’s overall growth. In 2023, Jonathan transitioned to the Main Office as vice president–commercial lender.
A Baldwin High School graduate, Pope earned his associate degree from Georgia Military College and his bachelor’s degree in business from Georgia College & State University. He has furthered his professional development by graduating from both GBA Banking School and LSU Banking School. He is the outgoing chair of the Community Bankers Association (CBA) Leadership Board and continues to serve on the CBA Board of Directors.

Jonathan has also been a dedicated community leader throughout Milledgeville and Baldwin County. He is a graduate of Leadership Baldwin, a past president and current member of the Exchange Club, and has served as a coach for several local youth sports organizations. Additionally, he is a board member for the GCSU School of Business and Technology and serves on the GMC Alumni Board.
This promotion underscores Exchange Bank’s commitment to recognizing and growing talent from within. With deep roots in the community and a strong history of leadership, Jonathan Pope will continue to play a key role in advancing Exchange Bank’s mission of delivering exceptional commercial lending services and supporting local businesses.
